We're still in Lynch. Today Seth and I dug a two 5-foot holes with nothing but a post hole digger and an iron digger. It was a pretty fun job until the hole flooded. We then set the fence poles in the holes and cemented them in. Last night we went to Greater Mount Sinai Baptist church. Yeah we got the sense of the Holy Spirit working in there. This was my second Black Church Experience.
Tonight we're headed over to another church for Wednesday night. Today I had the scripture reading at lunch. I chose to go Old Testament. I bet that doesn't happen to often from a 17 year old, or well anyone really I suppose. I chose " But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul." -Deuteronomy 4:29.
I challenge everyone, including myself to stay strong in your faith, and don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. If you don't step out of it, it's hard to grow in your faith. Missions aren't for everyone, but I encourage you to pray and ask God for guidance in deciding what you'll do.
"1 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. 2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues[a] as the Spirit enabled them." - Acts 2:1-4

This Morning In Lynch
Yesterday I left with my church from quaint little Harrodsburg, KY to head to the mountains. You could literally probably call this place Delieverance, but I'm not quite sure yet.
We are at the base of Black Mountain in a small coal community called Lynch. Lynch was home to 10,000 people in its Hayday, but now that town is down to around 1000 people.
This is one of the most poor towns in America. We're staying here at Solomon's Porch, an old hospital that's been converted into a "retreat" for incoming teams to work. Today we're heading about 15 minutes away to a horse camp. The camp holds camps for special needs children. They need some fences painted and put in, as well as a room finished.
Although there is nothing coherently dangerous about this trip, spreading The Word of Christ doesn't always have to be dangerous, although the fact that it is should not deter us from doing what Christ Commisioned us to do. Well we're about to leave so I'll leave you with one last word of encouragement, Never give up on God, because He will NEVER give up on you.
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.-Matthew 28:19
